Arianna and Gladys visit from Asociación Civil Voluntarios por los Animales

Yesterday was a busy day at Canaote. Additional to the usual feeding, maintaining and cleaning, we had a group of visitors. Arianna Calcaterra of Asociación Civil Voluntarios por los Animales with Gladys Miranda. Both famous on Facebook and elsewhere for their work in rescuing dogs and other animals. In particularly for their work in raising donations for the support of rescue.
Victor De Castro and Carem Zambrano were also in the party. Carem is here on holiday from Spain.
The party made the journey from Caracas even though the weather was not with them, they had heavy rain most of the way. Fortunately by the time they reached Canaote, the rains had ceased. They were able to make a fairly detailed tour of the children visiting all the monkeys. I suppose the highlight was their visit to the younger Howlers. They entered the enclosure and experienced Howler monkey behaviour first hand. Saco was not on best behaviour, he pulled Arianna's hair repeatedly but all in fun. The younger monkeys love visitors and become very excited. Maria Teresa, Tutti and Barnaby showed the party what they could do on the swings and ropes. But Saco was quite fascinated with the girls hair.

The party brought many useful gifts including milk and Cat Chow. Arianna had already donated money as well as some medicines by post. We very much enjoyed their visit and we are grateful for their generous gifts.
