Silvia, a new photograph.

Silvia arrived with group of Howler Monkeys that were foraging for food, three years ago. For some reason she stayed. We have accepted her as a resident although she is completely free to come and go. We provide her with the same food as our other children. She has become increasingly tame. She joins in the daily calls with great voice and defends the residents when wild monkeys visit. She accepts food gifts from the hand and shows no fear of being close to me. As you can see she is a big monkey. She moves around the site, sometimes above Lucio, much to the annoyance of Jaco. sometimes alongside Monito. She is very friendly with Nikki and they are almost always together.This photograph was taken today. At that time she was in the canopy some 25 meters above our compound.

Silvia llegó con un grupo de monos aulladores que fueron en busca de alimento, hace tres años. Por alguna razón, ella se quedó. La hemos aceptado como residente a pesar de que está completamente libre de ir y venir. Nosotros le ofrecemos la misma comida que a los otros niños. Se ha convertido cada vez en más dócil.
