This is Roquacita's baby born just a few minutes before this picture was taken. At first mother is bewildered and has not accepted the child. We have dried her removed the placenta. We are busy keeping her warm. As usual with Howlers there was no obvious sign that she was with child. Roquacita's enclosure is adjacent to my living quarters. I was finishing dinner when I heard a baby crying. Naturally I was puzzled and looked around. The baby was alone and cold trying to climb through the enclosure. More on the news as it happens. We have to get her through the night. Then tomorrow try and reintroduce to the mother. At this moment we do not know whether it is a boy or a girl.

Hola a todos. Voy a tratar de hacerlo a través de la noche
Este es el bebé nacido de Roquacita, hace pocos minutos que esta foto fue tomada. En un primer momento la madre está confundida y no ha aceptado al bebé. Le hemos limpiado los restos de placenta. Estamos ocupados en tratar de mantenerla en calor. Como es habitual en Aulladores no había ninguna señal obvia de que estaba embarazada. El recinto de Roquacita es adyacente a mi habitación. Yo estaba terminando de cenar, cuando oí un llanto de bebé. Naturalmente, me quedé perplejo y mire alrededor. El bebé estaba solo y frío tratando de subir a través de la jaula. Más sobre esta noticia mañana. Tenemos que conseguir a Roquacita, pero es muy difícil por la oscuridad de la noche. Mañana trataremos de reintroducir a la madre y juntarla con el bebé para ver si lo acepta. En este momento no sabemos si es un niño o una niña.
