Barnaby loves his little brother.

Well Cosito isn't actually Barnaby's brother but to see them together you would think so. This is all the more remarkable because Barnaby is approaching adulthood. Adult Howlers are nearly always aggressive against young males. For example Lucio, Schatov and now Eric would like to harm Cosito. In our picture you can see that Barnaby is giving Cosito a brotherly cuddle. He is genuinely fond of the little fellow. I take Cosito into Barnaby's enclosure every day and at once Cosito looks around for his friend and protector. There is a little jealously between Maria Teresa and Barnaby because Maria Teresa wants to mother Cosito. All her mothering instincts come into play and she wants to put her arm around him and give him a kiss.
The other boys, Tutti and Saco are too busy eating their breakfast and to a great extent they ignore the youngster. On the first occasion they showed a little interest. Now he joins them for their breakfast and there is no fighting over the food. Cosito is only seven months old so I have been surprise with the way he has adapted to using the facilities. He races around the walkway, he loves losing himself in the hammock. He is still too young to be left alone with the group because he does get into problems occasionally. For example a foot stuck in the cords of the hammock. But it won't be long now until he is able to join this group. He is already welcome as you see from the picture.

Barnaby ama a su hermano pequeño.
Bueno Cosito no es en realidad hermano de Barnaby, pero al verlos juntos se podría pensar eso. Esto es tanto más notable porque Barnaby se acerca a la edad adulta. Aulladores adultos son casi siempre agresivos contra los monos jóvenes. Por ejemplo Lucio, Schatov y ahora Eric quisieran hacerle daño a Cosito. En nuestra foto se puede ver que Barnaby le esta dando un abrazo fraternal a Cosito. Él es realmente aficionado al pequeño. Aprovecha Cosito para jugar en el recinto de Barnaby todos los días y al mismo tiempo Cosito mira a su alrededor para buscar a su amigo y protector. Hay un poco de celos entre María Teresa y  Barnaby porque ella quiere ser la madre adoptiva de Cosito. Todos sus instintos maternales entran en juego y quiere poner su brazo alrededor de él y darle un beso.
Los otros muchachos, Tutti y Saco está demasiado ocupados comiendo su desayuno y en gran medida hacen caso omiso del joven. En la primera ocasión ellos mostraron un poco de interés. Ahora se une a ellos para el desayuno y no hay lucha por el alimento. Cosito está a sólo siete meses de edad por lo que he sido sorprendido con la forma en que se ha adaptado al uso de las instalaciones. Corre alrededor de la pasarela, él ama estar en la hamaca. Él es todavía demasiado joven para estar solo con el grupo porque puede tener problemas de vez en cuando. Por ejemplo, un pie que le quede atrapado en las cuerdas de la hamaca. Pero no pasará mucho tiempo hasta que sea capaz de unirse a este grupo. Ya le dieron  la bienvenida como se ve en la foto.
