Until that time he had devoted his life to organic chemistry, and became an important man in the world of ophthalmology after inventing a product which allows you to wear contact lenses for several months. Because of this, he had "an interesting and busy life" in his native England, and so decided to retire early, and buy a small farm in Cojedes state.
After 14 years of living in the plains, Cordrey rarely knows the words to say in Spanish. Two, however, are pronounced with joy every morning: "fresh milk." In fact, he gets up every day with the sun to feed his little babies: araguato monkeys that have reached CaƱaote, the Center for Wildlife Rescue he created on his land and which has been operational ever since. Cordrey said that as soon as he learned of the cruelty to which the monkeys were subjected, being wrenched from their mothers and sold illegally and with impunity in the vicinity of Clarines, he felt the need to do something. That was how he began to receive the monkeys that people had bought, not understanding that they are not pets. Today under his care, Cordrey has 19 babies who are at the center of his life. Thus, this sensitive and altruistic man changed from England to Venezuela, and from chemistry to araguatos. He is currently writing a blog dedicated to raising awareness about the care of wildlife. With an irrepressible joy, he says he is living in a paradise inhabited by little red people and some of the most sensitive human beings "he has met in his life".
El Nacional
Anniversary Edition
Monday, August 3, 2009Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
